Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation occasionally. She began working for ESPN at the end of 2016. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since her age of nine. Her abilities were crucial in securing her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami, where she collaborated with producers of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. It was the CBS subsidiary that is located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as the sports reporter. The year 2009 saw her move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Her duties as an anchor on weather and sports was often requested. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She also did segments on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Apart from that, she also produced the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor. She was promoted as a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same role for the magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' family was originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She is more mature than her younger sister. In 1992, her family relocated from Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced shortly after and in 1995, she got married to a naval designer called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. It was on a break in summer that she spent with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta who was in high school with a plan of what she wanted her life to be, decided to visit Mount Union University to check what she could get out of the college. She discovered that she enjoyed the university, and the university offered the major she wanted. She finished school and enrolled at the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU in which she's a member. They formed a strong relationship. The passion he had for journalism as well as the confidence she had in herself encouraged her. Herself was determined to achieve the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
